Book DesignPhotographyCopy WritingSolitude is a book on falling in love with people alone. So often being alone is seen as a negative trait. I set out to express that being alone and enjoying your own company is a great feeling. I took these photos over a few years during times where I resented being alone as well as times where I enjoyed the freedom of being my own friend.
Let’s be transparent
Solitude is a photo book where you don’t need the words. The book is designed where there are no words needed on the pages themselves to express the feeling that you can enjoy your time without words.
However there is writing involved, the type is printed on transparent pages so that the images can be enjoyed alone or with the company of my words. The copy is all written from an encouraging standpoint on how being alone is encouraged, in order to get to know and to love yourself.
The photos are paired with the type in black in white to invoke calm and sentimental feelings for the viewer. I want the reader to be inspired to spend some more time alone with themselves
