Allay’s product prioritizes all natural adaptogens and herbal ingredients. One of these ingredients are Reishi mushrooms. These mushrooms are used in order to give a sense of calm while still getting to enjoy a non-alcoholic beverage.

Mushrooms has become a vital part of the brand. An imprint of a mushroom is a part of the logo as well as the main graphic on the wine bottle. This highlights that Allay’s products are filled with natural ingredients that benefit you and give you a enjoyable, calming experience.

Bold Colors, Bold Labels, Bold Ideas

Allay is a company that comes out of Washington state. They currently use white labels and minimal branding. I wanted to break the more typical wine company branding.

The label came about from the use of reishi mushrooms. I went out to the wooded area behind my campus and hunted down some mushrooms with some friends. I took the mushrooms I forage and made stamps of them in my sketch book. To create the label I took a scan of the mushroom and created a vector of it. That is also used as a texture in the branding. I also scanned some additional floral assets to assist in the mushroom texture.

This brand uses strong, bold colors to elevate the brand against the minimal, bright, white branding of it’s competitors . These colors are reflective of wine and the process that is followed to create Allay products. These colors are displayed with hierarchy in mind and have paired colors to create a full-proof system. The names of the colors are based off wine related aspects of the process.
